Kitty Çava first came across Shiatsu at the East/West Centre in London in 1983, where she was studying Macrobiotic medicine. She was so fascinated by her experiences that she has been studying and exploring Shiatsu in varying degrees ever since.
When she returned to Brighton, Kitty continued her studies under the inspired teaching of Paul Lundberg. After a number of years studying and bringing up her children, she spent time as a Teacher of Art in secondary education, but managed to maintain her links with Shiatsu through regular study and courses.
Kitty was then introduced to a therapy called Seiki: the work of Sensei Akinobu Kishi. This re-awoke her original inspiration and insight, and challenged her to a deeper and fuller understanding of the nature of healing.
