Stems and Branches

The Yin & Yang style of acupuncture, known as TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) and 5 Element acupuncture are the two main types of acupuncture practised in the west.

Another style is called Stems and Branches which originated in Tibet. A chart is drawn up of the inherent energies present at the time of ones birth, and this guides the practitioner in their treatment. Philosophically it is based upon the associations of the 5 Elements and their relationship to the planets.
