It would be untrue to say there are no risks, but these are minimised by thorough training and safe practice. Disposable sterile needlesare used, and a new needle is used for each insertion and then safely stored for incineration.
The chance of injury is extremely unlikely if you receive treatment from a competently trained professional, such as a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC).
