In your first session your therapist will take a 15 minute case history. This includes talking about your main complaint if you have one, your health history and any other health problems.
In pregnancy, there are fewer essential oils that can be used. Your therapist uses her expertise to select the most suitable, and blends them together in a base oil (such as almond or grapeseed). This will be used to massage your body.
The therapist works to your own individual needs. Massage can be gentle and soothing right through to a deep pressure to really work at painful areas.
Most of the treatment can be done on your side, particularly the work on your back and spine. Your shoulders and feet can be worked sitting up, or however is comfortable for you.
The session can also include a very light massage of your tummy with oils that are helpful for stretch marks.
