Osteopaths believe that the structure and function of the body are so closely linked, that we can deal with a problem in the function of the body by looking at its structure.

We use our skills and an extensive knowledge of anatomy, to find what feels out of place, and how this might be affecting the organs and nerves of the body.

We also try to find out what has caused this displacement: In the past, there may have been a fall, a strain, or whiplash, which has left things a little crooked. The body might be held in an awkward posture at work. Or even as we are born, we may have been stuck for a long time in an awkward and strained position, with huge forces pressing on our bodies.

Using gentle and generally painless techniques we ease things back into place. This allows the fluids of the body to flow freely and supply all the muscles, ligaments, organs and nerves so that they can do their jobs properly.
